BB -Málta (9.nap) Benke Balázs

 Reggel, az erősen autisztikus ébredési rituálém és routine-m közben megnéztem a tegnapi bejegyzésem végén Roberta kommentjét és közben (miközben lefelé görgettem az oldalt) rácsodálkoztam, hogy milyen sokat is írtam, pedig nem is tudok mesélni🤭. Szóval, most 8:33 van és már 36 fok, de ez csak a bemelegítés, ma lesz a hőség csúcspontja. Délutánra kell keresni valami beach-et, különben meghalunk. Itt mindenhol van klíma (épületek,boltok,tömegközlekedés), de ez a mostani itt is szélsőségesnek számító hőség már meghaladta a gépek teljesítményének határát és sok helyett vagy nem működnek, vagy működnek még, de nem képesek hűteni. Mivel Málta az elektromos áramot nagyrészt  Szicíliából importálja (és ott is túlfogyaztás van a hőség miatt), áramproblémák is vannak sok helyen a szigeten. Szóval a mai program délelőtt: 

1.: lassú főlés társaságban egy kis teremben és 

2.: ha még élünk és van energiánk mozogni, akkor tovább főlés "élővirsliként" egy buszon a saját és más sorstársunk levében és

3.: ha túléltük az utazást a strandra, akkor a "Szakasz" című film egyik ikonikus jelenetképének (amikor Willem Defoe-t hátulról lelövik) élő előadása a tengerben (csak nem lassítva, mint szegény Defoe és nincs oscar-díjas zene közben).

Na ez a mai tervem reggel!

In the morning, during my highly autistic wake-up ritual and routine, I looked at Roberta's comment at the end of yesterday's post and (while scrolling down the page) I was amazed at how much I wrote, even though I can't even tell a story🤭. So, it's 8:33 and already 36 degrees, but that's just the warm-up, today will be the peak of the heat. We have to find a beach for the afternoon, otherwise we will die. There is air conditioning everywhere here (buildings, shops, public transport), but this current heat, which is also considered extreme here, has already exceeded the performance limit of the machines and in many places they either do not work, or they still work, but they are not able to cool. Since Malta imports most of its electricity from Sicily (and there is also an oversupply due to the heat), there are also power problems in many places on the island. So today's program this morning:

1.: slow cooking together in a small room and

2.: if we are still alive and have the energy to move, then continue cooking as "live hot dogs" on a bus in our own and other fate's juices and

3rd: if we survived the trip to the beach, then a live performance of one of the iconic scenes from the movie "Platoon" (when Willem Defoe is shot from behind) in the sea (just not in slow motion like poor Defoe and no Oscar-winning music).

This is my plan for the morning!

Na most kaptam a hírt Janosz-tól, hogy a guinea-i lány, akit tegnap hazaküldtek óráról, Covidos. Kíváncsi leszek, hogy lesz-e valami következménye ránk nézve. 

I just received the news from Janosz that the girl from Guinea who was sent home from class yesterday has Covid. I wonder if there will be any consequences for us.

 És......semmi. Ez tetszik. Nem tették 6 hét karanténba, aki mellette ült, 5 hétre, aki beszélt Vele, 4 hétre aki ránézett, 3 hétre aki rágondolt és a végén jött volna 100 Biohazard overálba öltöztetett indiai vendégmunkás, aki lepermetezett volna mindent és mindenkit, jaaaa és Zsíros Marika néni aki letörölte volna a kilincseket hipósronggyal. Az órán a tegnapi anyagot vittük tovább sok párban és csoportban végzett szituációs társalgással. Jókat derültünk egymáson.

And nothing. I like this. They didn't quarantine the person who sat next to him for 6 weeks, the person who talked to him for 5 weeks, the person who looked at him for 4 weeks, the person who thought about him for 3 weeks, and at the end 100 Indian guest workers dressed in Biohazard overalls who would have sprayed everything and everyone, yes and Aunt Marika Zsíros who would have wiped the doorknobs with a rag. In class, we continued yesterday's material with many situational conversations in pairs and groups. We found each other good.

A 2.órán az oktatásról, oktatási rendszerekről és módszerekről beszélgettünk/dolgoztunk szokásos módon. Mint  kiderült a mellettem ülő Janosz igazgató egy iskolában. Nagyon érdekelte, hogy mi van Magyarországon. Elmondtam mennyit keresek 20 év tanítás után, elkerekedett a szeme (pedig ők sincsenek megfizetve a helyi viszonyokhoz képest). Náluk a kezdő tanár keres ennyit, később 1000-1200 eurót kereshet. Ő igazgatóként 1500-t. Csodálkozott a 24-26 óra heti óraszámunkon és hogy efölött nem igazán fizetik ki, hanem mindenféle kifogással magyarázzák, hogy miért nem. Ők 18 órát dolgoznak hetente és afölött kifizetik a túlórát. 

Úgy döntöttem, hogy a fentebb felsorolt 3 program közül átteszem a 3-kat más napra. Semmi kedvem nincs a 2.ponthoz (utazás zsúfolt tömegközlekedéssel), ezért meg sem valósulhatna a 3.pont, a Hablegénnyé válásom 😁. Sajnos ettől a csodálatos pilanattól ma megfosztom a Golden Bay turistáit és magamat is😂😢😭

In the 2nd lesson, we talked/worked as usual about education, educational systems and methods. As it turned out, principal Janosz sitting next to me in a school. He was very interested in what was happening in Hungary. I told him how much I earn after 20 years of teaching, and his eyes widened (even though they are not well paid compared to local conditions). With them, the beginning teacher earns this much, later he can earn 1000-1200 euros. 1,500 as a director. He was amazed at our 24-26 hours per week and that they don't really pay more than that, but instead use all kinds of excuses to explain why not. They work 18 hours a week and are paid overtime.

I decided to move 3 of the 3 programs listed above to another day. I have no desire to do the 2nd point (traveling with crowded public transport), so the 3rd point, my becoming Hablegény (Male Mermaid), would not be possible. Unfortunately, today I will deprive Golden Bay tourists and myself of this wonderful moment😂😢😭

 

Az utolsó órán Carla idegenvezetésével a Muze Museum of Fine Arts-ban voltunk tárlatvezetésen. Tök jó, mert mára a strand helyett múzeumlátogatást terveztem és a Muze kb.70 méterre van a szállásomtól, így ez volt a célpontom. Carla az egyetemet művészet-angol szakon végezte, így sok érdekességet mesélt a máltai művészekről és alkotásaikról, illetve a Máltán született festményekről, tárgyakról. Nagyon modern és látványos a kiállítás!

In the last class, we were guided by Carla at the Muze Museum of Fine Arts. It's great, because today I planned to visit a museum instead of the beach, and the Muze is about 70 meters from my accommodation, so that was my destination. Carla graduated from the university with a degree in art and English, so she told many interesting things about Maltese artists and their works, as well as paintings and objects born in Malta. The exhibition is very modern and spectacular!

Személy szerint a klasszikus festészet és szobrászat tetszik inkább, mert a modern művészetet nem igazán tudom értékelni. Tudom ez az én hibám és tudatlanságom, de most is voltunk egy olyan részen a múzeumban, ahol "festmények"és egyéb módon elkészült "alkotások" olyanok, mint amilyeneket az én 6 éves kislányomtól bármikor kapok, mikor sok színes ceruza/filc/toll és papír közelébe kerül és "meglepit" készít nekem/nekünk.

Personally, I like classical painting and sculpture because I can't really appreciate modern art. I know it's my fault and ignorance, but we were also in a part of the museum where "paintings" and otherwise defaced "works" are like the ones I get from my 6-year-old daughter whenever she gets her hands on a lot of colored pencils/felt pens/pens and paper and makes "surprises" for me/us.

A tárlatvezetés után elköszöntünk és mindenki elindult haza. Mintegy 27 másodperc múlva én már meg is érkeztem😁 és valami olaszos ebédet/vacsorát kívántam. Egy tenger gyümölcsei spagettivel lefojtottam "iszonyú" éhezésem (ebben a melegben nem is vagyok éhes sokszor), most pedig lezárom soraimat és megosztom a nap híreit Veletek (mert ma már inkább légkondi közelében maradok és hűsülök a szobában.

After the guided tour, we said goodbye and everyone went home. About 27 seconds later, I arrived 😁 and wanted some Italian lunch/dinner. I quelled my "terrible" hunger with a seafood spaghetti (in this heat I'm not even hungry many times), and now I'll close my lines and share the news of the day with you (because today I prefer to stay near the air conditioner and cool off in the room.
