Tenerife 0.day

My Dear Readers!

The course starts at noon on Sunday, so I had to leave earlier, because I didn't have my own plane. There is only a direct flight on Friday, so with some math I decided to travel on Saturday with a layover. I left our small town before dawn to catch the early morning flight to Frankfurt. I was still in the DDR, our destination was Frankfurt an der Oder, since then both the DDR and the Il-18 have ended.

Frankfurt am Main is much bigger, its airport is amazing. Its two passenger terminals are connected by a monorail, I wanted to try this anyway, but I was afraid that I would have to go through the security check again.

My destination was Tenerife, part of the Canary Islands. I'll give you a guessing question, which animal species did the archipelago get its name from?

I landed at the southern airport and had to fight my way to the city of Puerto de la Cruz from there. Based on the first impression, the northern part, where I am now, is much more spectacular and beautiful than the southern part.

Fortunately, we can spend the zero day at the place of the training, of course for an extra fee, but the first day the place will be familiar, and at least one member of the group, the advantage of my MÁV backpack, I look recognizably Hungarian, so I ran together with another Hungarian member of our group.

The harbor fortress at sunset. Will there be the heros of Rejtő, Dirty Fred, Jimmy Fülig or the blue-bearded Mr. Wagner?

To be continued

  1. Canariae Insulae - Island of dogs , although the dog can also mean a sea dog (seal). The canary birds got their name from the islands and not the other way around.
